No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images are never sent to any server, stored anywhere, or seen by anyone. Everything happens locally on your device.
For most web use, 75–85% gives the best balance of file size and visual quality. At the default 82%, most people cannot tell the difference from the original on screen. For print or archival purposes, stay at 90%+. For thumbnails or social media previews where file size matters more, 60–70% is acceptable.
PNG is a lossless format and cannot be compressed as aggressively as JPG. The savings are usually smaller. If your PNG does not have a transparent background, consider converting it to WebP or JPG using the Image Converter tool — you will typically see much larger reductions.
It resizes your image so neither the width nor height exceeds the chosen value, while keeping the original aspect ratio. Resizing is often the single biggest factor in reducing file size — more impactful than quality reduction alone. A 4000px wide photo has far more data than a 1920px version even at the same quality.
