This is a template, not legal advice. A cease and desist from a non-lawyer can still be effective, but for serious matters — significant financial loss, ongoing harassment, or complex IP disputes — consult a qualified lawyer before sending. Laws vary by jurisdiction.

Your Details (Sender)
This is you — the person whose rights are being violated.
Use your full legal name, or your company name if sending on behalf of a business.
Recipient Details
The recipient is the person or business you are sending this to.
Use their full legal name if known. A business name or username works if that is all you have.
Situation Details
Be specific and factual — what are they doing, where, and since when?
E.g. "Since March 2025, you have been publishing my product photos on example.com without authorisation."
14 days is the most common deadline — firm enough to be serious, reasonable enough to hold up if challenged.
Use 7 days for urgent situations. Avoid fewer than 7 days as it can appear unreasonable.
Optional Demands
Additional demands beyond stopping the behaviour. Defaults are reasonable for most cases — uncheck anything that does not apply.
